Nevada Community Enrichment Program (NCEP) is a comprehensive, coordinated, post-acute day and residential rehabilitation program for individuals with traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury and other similar neurological impairments, as well as persons with spinal cord injuries and orthopedic injuries and/or surgical interventions requiring comprehensive rehabilitation.

Services include a combination of individual and group therapies offered in both clinical and community-based environments.  Programs include an appropriate and individualized combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as rehabilitation nursing, physician services and oversight, education, behavioral and case management services. Additional programs include life skills re-training, avocational and vocational programing, and volunteer opportunities.

Comprehensive Outpatient Therapy Services for Adults:

NCEP’s Day Treatment Program is designed for those who are able to live in their own homes but need access to intensive therapeutic services that are client-driven and outcome oriented. The NCEP team utilizes evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help persons-served attain their goals and improve their independence both at home and in the community.

NCEP’s day treatment program is provided in our community-based treatment center located on the campus of College of Southern Nevada, in a central part of the city, allowing for easy access and full use of community resources. NCEPS’ residential treatment program includes the compressive day program with additional residential therapeutic services at one of our community based home settings.

Keon's Story

Keon sustained a spinal cord injury (SCI) in 2022. He came to NCEP Spencer soon after being released from the trauma hospital. After weeks of intensive rehab at Spencer, he was stable enough to go home and then he continued his outpatient therapy at Loux. One of his goals was to hold his baby while standing up. That goal was met before he graduated from NCEP last June 2023. Keon has come a long way. Although he has graduated from the program, he continues to help other clients by helping out in the Peer Support Group every Thursday.

Comprehensive Pediatric Outpatient Therapy Services:

We provide families with assistance and recommendations for: development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), development of 504 plans, and development of academic modifications and accommodations.

Joel's Journey

Joel is a 5 year old boy who came to NCEP after a severe brain injury. On February 9, 2023, he complained of a very bad headache and then had three seizures. He was brought to the locals children's hospital where he was emergently intubated because he was not able to breathe on his own. Brain imaging showed multiple brain bleeds.

He was transferred to a hospital in Utah for a higher level of care where he underwent many brain surgeries to help reduce the pressure on his brain.

He was eventually discharged home and admitted to NCEP outpatient therapy. When he first arrived, he was in a wheelchair and could barely speak. He worked so very hard with the therapy team.

He was discharged from NCEP without a wheelchair and he could walk, run, jump, and do trick shots! He was able to participate in our community outing to Build-A-Bear with our other pediatric clients where he picked a red dinosaur! He continues to do very well back at home with family and in the community.

Joel's story was such an inspiration and he is one of the bravest and sweetest boys we know!
