NCEP News

Success Stories, Graduations, Events, Clinic Updates, and More!

In 2024, NCEP was nominated for the Winged Heart Award by the Clark County Medical Society.

Established in 2013 by former CCMS President Dr. George Alexander to honor nurses, health focused nonprofits, and first responders in Clark County. These nominations are given to healthcare providers in the community that continue to raise the standards and practices of healthcare in Clark County.

Julie Peterson, Director of NCEP, and Dr. Sherry Perucho, Clinical Manager of NCEP, were invited to participate in the awards ceremony at the Cleveland Clinic.

In July of 2024, NCEP was named as the newest community partner of the Englestad's Student Scholars Program. Students are mentored by community providers as they complete their internships and student volunteer work programs.

Established in 2009 by the Engelstad Family Foundation, the Englestad's Student Scholars program is the largest active scholarship endowment in the history of UNLV and the Nevada System of Higher Education. This generous endowment requires scholars to complete 100 hours of community service each year in collaboration with nonprofit organizations.

The program offers students a chance to contribute to their community and engage in civic activities while benefiting from financial support. Emphasizing scholarship, leadership, and service, the program imparts lessons that extend well beyond the academic setting.

NCEP is a proud new partner of the Engelstad Program and looks forward to working with these outstanding individuals on their way to completing their degrees.
